Frequently asked questions
I recommend submitting your order as far in advance. For wedding season, spots fill up fast.
Turnaround time right now is 3-5 months, sooner if I am able depending on peak/off season. Later if it is peak wedding season. I will be completely open and honest about completion times when you book.
Up to 3 days after the event, the sooner the better. I cannot work with flowers that crumble, are moldy or damaged. Please keep your bouquet in water and/or in the fridge (not the freezer) to slow the aging process until drop off/pick up.
Send me a message and let’s talk. When using anything thicker than a picture, choosing 3D flowers is a better option with a shadow box as there is more depth to work with to add sentimental items.
With the proper care and using quality materials this will eliminate a lot of the fading and will last a lifetime, however, your flowers will still fade over time slightly, but every frame is protected by 99% coated UV glass. You can help to minimize this by displaying your frame out of humidity, and away from direct sunlight. Color correction however, is something I will always include in my designs at no extra charge.
Due to the nature of a flower, not all will make it. I do my best to preserve as many of them as possible, but flowers have a mind of their own at times! I will only use the flowers that are in their best condition to make the best final piece for you.
Pressed flowers are flattened in a press for many weeks, changing the shape considerably. A lot of these flowers may be “deconstructed” and then glued back together. Thicker flowers like roses or mums, will not look as they did when sitting in a vase on your counter. This is more of a botanical artistic style for floating frames between two pieces of glass, or on a colored matboard. I can create many shapes and designs with this style versus with 3D flowers. If you would like your flowers in a specific shape, chances are I can make it happen. (see moon or paws frames in my portfolio for examples). 3D flowers dried in Silica will keep more closely to their original shape and are “3D”. This is a good choice if you are trying to recreate a more bouquet looking style, or adding trinkets as these will go in a shadow box nicely as you need more depth to work with.
Because everything is very custom, I do not offer refunds. Once your bouquet is received by me your order has been placed if you would decide not to proceed as I have already started preserving them. If after paying your $50 nonrefundable fee, and you decide to move forward, you may cancel your order 24 hours in advance of your drop off day.
A mockup photo of the design of your flowers after they have been preserved, will be sent by either email or text, whichever you choose. Please understand that when deciding on a design, your mockup will resemble your final design, it will not be exact. Send me your inspirational photos, or a lot of customers have me surprise them with their design!
Please get in touch with me before booking if you are looking for a specific shape. Please note: shapes can only be made using flat/pressed flowers, and not flowers preserved in Silica that are 3D.
You can either drop them off at my studio, or we can arrange for pickup if you are within 30 miles of Omro, WI.
